by webmaster

The World Archery board meeting (17-18 December 2011) has reviewed the status of technology innovations currently under way in this sport, in view of the London Olympic Games next year. The Tabrasco Heart Beat Monitor is mentioned in this paragraphe:

An automatic scoring system project from an engineering team in Hungary has been presented to Council. The project is close to completion and very promising. Another project on the edge of technology is also underway with a Swiss research team: the aim is to measure the heart-rate of the athletes on the shooting line and include it in a TV graphic.

A few days earlier, the device was tested under competition conditions in Crissier (Switzerland). The video features Olympic Champion Juan Carlos Holgado explaining the purpose of the Heart Monitor Project.
